Built by farmer George Martin
Base: local limestone
Frame: oak timbers held by wooden pegs
Walls: originally wattle and daub. Replaced by bricks in the herring-bone pattern in the late 18th century.
Roof: originally thatch, now pantiles,
Original use: grain storage, threshing (on the interior stone floor) and winnowing, (large doors front and back provided draught).
