Roots of Boots Robin
The ‘Roots of Boots Robin’ has been hand painted by artist Julia Allum featuring beautiful plants and flowers that have been used in some of our health and beauty products for generations, since John Boot established our first herbalist store on Goose Gate in 1847. The roots of boots have always been here in Nottingham
Of course, this robin is sponsored by Boots the Chemist and stands on outside the shop that was Boots first department store.
Stage Fright - Artists Claire Thompson and Anna Roberts
The Theme of reflection draws together Nottingham Playhouse’s iconic ‘Sky Mirror’ landmark with the idea of the plays produced there being a mirror held up to society. The ornate mirror surround adds a theatrical element that links the feathery wings within the mirrors frame and uses reflective material and glitter – making sure there’s still some left for this year’s panto!
A Bird in the Hand - Artist Sue Guthrie
A Bird in the hand is painted to look like a wonderful topiary robin and is an illustration of the well-known saying ‘a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.’ Spot two little birds hiding in the bush as well as ladybirds, butterflies and bees. One is a blue tit, the other is?
Rocket Robin - Artist Deven Dhurke
Rocket Robin is inspired by the shape of the sculpture – similar to a rocket or space shuttle. The design is brought to life in an illustrative way to capture the imagination of young minds, also showing space planets at the base. The name is inspired by the Top Gear series.
