Loughborough. To perpetuate the memory of the men who gave their lives in the first world war the people of Loughborough raise the funds to build this memorial. Building work started in November 1921 and was unveiled on 22 July 1923 by thee tower was completed the required sum of £20,000 had been raised. Building materials were sourced from local businesses and built by local firms. The 47 bell were made Taylor's bell foundry in Loughborough, the largest one be donated by Edmund Taylor in memory of his 2 Nephews who were killed in action. Between Good Friday and 30th Sept. on Sunday and Thursday between 1- 2 pm the bells are played.
