Two or three weeks ago dogs attacked and killed one of the swans , possibly the female, in Vernon Park
Today the as I approached the pond there was a commotion swans fighting; the family of swans from up the river had arrived in the park. The park swan was putting up a good fight but every time it was getting the better of the male the female joined in. They were trying to keep its head under the water. The park swan eventually got out of the pond and had to admit defeat. It very slowly and dejectedly made its way to the river. I feel sad for our park swan; I would like to know where it has gone.
The male swan was very aggressive towards the ducks on the pond.
