Church of St. Thomas Aslockton by oldjosh

Church of St. Thomas Aslockton

Thomas Cranmer was born in Aslockton on 2nd July 1489.
King Henry VIII appointed Thomas as Archbishop of Canterbury in 1533. Cranmer immediately pronounced Henry’s marriage to Catherine of Aragon to be null and void.
He was burnt at the stake in Oxford on the 21st March 1556
Interestingly I took this shot on the 461st anniversary of his death
Incredible, I can't imagine a building so old..
