Bristol Time - Corn Exchange by oldjosh

Bristol Time - Corn Exchange

The clock was installed in 1822, but with the coming of the railways another minute hand was added. The black minuet had shows Bristol time, the red one Greenwich Mean Time.
The railways needed standard timing across the country based on London time. Bristol is 2° 35' west of Greenwich and as can be seen on the clock anyone using Bristol time would easily find the train had already left. the difference between Bristol and Greenwich is about 10 minutes
A fascinating clock and interesting information.
