I took a little trip to Ocean Beach today. It was one of the beaches here in San Diego that has a pier I haven't shot yet. Its amazing to me how one city can have such distinct towns within its borders. every beach you visit here is so different from the others. OB is one of those places. Its like time stopped here when the Grateful Dead had its hay day! Hairy legs, smoke shops, and endless feet of dreadlocks. After fighting my way through the hemp bracelets and roses made from palm leaves I found the pier. I got in a few shots before I started feeling like the clean cut undercover agent with the camera sneaking shots of the scandalous behavior. I soon packed up my gear, grabbed a go green pamphlet and a tofu burrito, and got the heck out of there!
The bravest part of all that was eating the tofu burrito. Even as a vegetarian, I wouldn't touch one with a 40 full pole. Beautiful spot. Love your composition. Despite the name of the post, I didn't see the words on the pier until I scrolled up while I was typing this. Now it makes sense!
Ha! San Diego is awesome!! Love this capture of the waves. The POV is excellent. I wonder if they serve those tofu burritos at that cafe at the end of the pier:)
LOL, dude! Did you get you hemp bracelet too?! Great shot and perspective! I just love the San Diego area, but guess I'll have to make sure I go the right beach! :-)
Great commentary and shot Jerry. Lov it. I was wondering if you would be willing to host the next camera setting challenge? If so instructions are on the page announcing me as the winner of csc5 (who knew?). If not just let me know, I'll ask another. But I have enjoyed your work spotting it from time to time here.
Sounds like a grand adventure. Is that cafe really still running as a cafe? This pier looks a little more run down than some of your others. Lovely perspective.
@geocacheking Oh no! I'm out of town for the day and I just checked in and saw your comment! Thank you for thinking of me, Cameron! I would love to do it! I don't think I'll be back in time!
