I payed a quick visit to a local historic mission today between jobs. I love the character on this old building! Maybe a longer visit is in order soon!
Happy Friday everyone! I'm heading out tonight to try my luck at shooting the "blue moon" tonight. We'll see how that goes! So many of you do such a good job on moon shots, I hope I can get one even close!
There is a blue moon tonight? Does that mean the second full moon in one month? I should know this! I teach about space and the moon at school! This shot up above of the mission and the tree...gorgeous!
@orangecrush Yeah, I'm serious...well, about which thing? That I teach this at school (fourth grade) or that I like your mission and tree? Either way...answer is yes! :))
great framing...and aren't we lucky to have such a cool hobby that we can do in between doing other things (such as paying the bills...) lol - - great composition....great lighting.....awesome subject matter
Hey Jerry... we're partners for Get Pushed 7. It's an honor. I find your work top notch and varied. As this challenge proceeds I think we've all had our fair share of selfies, street shots, high key, low key, motion blur, etc. So I am going to push you with a new sort of challenge. I ran across the idea on Flickr and it seemed fun. Here it is:
Take snap shots of whatever catches your eye from the beginning of the day to the end of the day. Do not look in the viewfinder/LED screen to compose the photo. Do not check the images right after the shot. At the end of the day pick one that you like the most. I am going to allow you processing rights as well just to give your creative side some tension release ;-)
what a perfectly positioned tree, or maybe arch?! wonderful shot. I also took some shots of the blue moon, my 4 year old was bitterly dissapointed it wasn't actually blue! :)
This is a beautiful shot! Love the way you set the scene by including a bit of the interior. Love the light coming in through the rails, the reflection on the water and the DOF that allows me to see way back to the mountains in the distance! Nice Work! Fav
