I've been wanting to get under this thing for a while now! The problem is, where the bike trail goes under the bridge, the bottom is surrounded by fences and barbwire! I can't have that in my shot! Soooo......
After climbing through a fence, hopping over a couple STAY OUT warning signs, balancing on the rocky edge of the water, and finding a great spot right next to the "TRESPASSING! Secured by the US COAST GUARD" sign...I got my shot! :)
Well, it has to be a fav for trespassing, ignoring keep out signs and generally risking life and limb for a photo haha! Great pov, it looks so imposing Jerry!
USCG has that bridge covered in cameras. They are on their way to your home as I type. :) Such a monolithic looking bridge, great shot. I hope their facial recognition software is on the fritz right now.
@geocacheking Lol! I thought the same thing! There was talk a while ago about this bridge being a target! I just kept thinking, I'm under a bridge taking photos in a restricted area...I'm screwed if I get caught!

I am faving this for two reasons.. Firstly because is a damn good shot and secondly because you as dumb as I am when it comes to taking risks to get a shot :D I am laughing here.. as It really is the sort of thing i would do.. Brilliant, thanks for the laugh :)
Well worth your intrepid fence climbing - great shot (even if I did think it was a shot of a hot air balloon taken through an archway from the thumbnail - doh!)
Now that I'm down off my roof (!), I should warn YOU to watch out for those Coast Guards fellows! Such a grand shot. . .but NOW, I want to see one with all the warning signs!!

The division of color, the way the different parts of the sky are formed, the architectural elements, the symmetry, are all amazing. I cannot recall a more perfectly composed shot. Amazing.
love it........i've slipped thru a few fences in my time (no, wait.....i have never done that....no, not me....that would be illegal). Anyway, the shot is amazing - a fav! the perspective and the way your eye is drawn into the shot is CLASSIC!
So architectural. Love how it makes me feel like I'm back in a Gothic Cathedral and acutely aware of my human size while the blue underside is very soothing to my senses.
