I was looking forward to this part of the challenge which was Urban photography! I have always love that gritty feeling of urban photography!
I actually had my Mom on the phone whilst taking this shot! She has always been my creative mentor. She has been stalking 365 lately and I can't wait until she dives in! she has been a dog trainer for years and is getting into pet photography. Awesome!
This is my urban post to the One Night Stand Challenge http://365project.org/discuss/general/14432/one-night-stand-too
Very cool. I've really enjoyed this week. That being said, I think tomorrow is going to be the toughest day for me. SOOC will be so difficult. I always crops, or work on saturation levels or contrast levels. But it has really sparked something in me. I had fun. Thanks for setting it up.
Looking forward to another one like this in a couple of weeks?
This is an awesome shot! If you dont mind me asking for my learning, did you do some post processing on the wire to get the lighter effect? Very nicely balanced in the lighting department! A fav shot!
@staci2171 Thank you, Staci! This is an HDR. The sun was just outside of my shot on the left. You can see the light hitting the brick wall in the back. Merging the three exposures really helps to bring out the details in the shaded areas. HDR works great for these types of settings!
I wasnt sure if it was HDR Or not, but whatever it was…fantastic shot…I need to start getting out and trying to shoot urban and utilize my HDR software as well.
Fantastic composition. I must still attempt HDR. Not looking forward to my SOOC but funnily enough I've scored a luck twice this week with getting shots that I could post SOOC! Now I must compose one......
This is very cool, I love the graffiti. I have also really enjoyed this week. Tomorrow will be interesting, as I have started processing my shots a lot more than I ever used to. I do remember your? sooc for a week challenge but I don't remember you failing at it!
I'd say you succeeded in the "urban" part here! You have graffiti, razor wire, cinderblocks, metal, some sort of power or cell tower, and a "don't think about parking here or you'll get towed." AND the graffiti is a gas mask! haha Love how you made that razor wire stand out.... Very nice, Jerry! fav!
Great shot - love all the elements. I have done some pet photography - tell her to bring lots of treats (and patience!). Missed the One Night Stand again = but good excuse - just came back from a photography workshop. Too much fun! :)
Looking forward to another one like this in a couple of weeks?
It would be fun to get a group together and shoot URBAN :)
