Apple Thief in the Night

This enormous apple tree fell years ago, but produces a heavy crop. I just have to act fast to get some. Last night the apples were there and the grass around the tree was thick. Today the apples are gone except large piles of applesauce laden bear scat, and the grass beneath the tree has been flattened and a den formed beneath the branches

"Applesauce laden bear scat!" LMAO! I remember that was always our clue as to "WHOM" got into the raspberries when I was young. Dang bears leaving their evidence to tease us!

Yup- I always know when the skunk has made a midnight run to my birdfeeder convenience store too- he leaves a very distinctive burrow in the seeds on the ground. Cool shot!
