The dock in my picture with the tall ships was built by the citizens of the town afar the 1964 tsunami and is called "citizens dock" and anyone can walk on it or crab or fish off it. These are the commercial docks where the crab, shrimp and rock cod, tuna and halibut are unloaded. Sea lions gather here waiting to have food fresh from the ships. Boats are put in dry dock for repairs and the smelly job of earning a living from the sea is carried out.
Beautiful view (as always!) You live in nature's perfect part of our country. What I really love on this photo is that POP of red from that crate (box?) It just seems to draw the eye in and then outward toward the dock. Ordinary .. yet powerful.
