just across the street from each other is a situation you see everywhere in Crescent City. There are beautiful, Well kept homes and junked out fire traps all in the same area. At least the town doesn't have a "wrong side of the tracks" division but the dichotomy is still heartbreakingly obvious.
And it must be so hard on the owners who are trying to make their homes nice. We have that here too- nice looking homes next to ones that are foreclosed and abandoned. One of them was just broken in to last week and the copper piping stolen. They sell the metal for drug money. Sad thing about this one was although it looked abandoned, that particular house was a summer home to someone! Thank goodness they weren't there when it happened.
