The one pet I had long before there were babies in my home, and still here and happy with the newly emptier nest and more of my attention now that the babies are grown and the grandbaby is in a different home
Precious baby, you can tell he is very cherished and loved from the sweet, playful expression of happiness on his face. He must be so much fun! I went through a period where I really wanted to get a bird, but never had the chance. It was when I was studying English language learning, and the history go the English language. I was so intrigued by how parrots could learn to talk...What does yours like to say?
I have to tell the story of when I did kind of fall in love with a parrot that lived in a local nursery. They used to carry pets, and the bird section did not always use bird cages. Sometimes, it could be frightening to walk around all of the birds without really knowing them and with very little restraint for potential protection, if needed. Well, this beautiful parrot was the center of the bird section, an d I took extra-special care to move quietly and slowly by him, and to act uninterested in him as I stood there unobtrusively for awhile. Suddenly, he began to slowly flap his wings and move from foot-to-foot. I couldn't believe it--he was dancing! :) The store manager was so surprised! He said the parrot had a reputation for being anti-social, and didn't like very many people that much. He had even been known to bite some customers. (He lived there, and wasn't for sale, so I guess he could get away with that). The store manager said he hardly danced for anybody! When he did, it meant that he really liked that person. I just love telling that sorry; it made me feel so good to have that parrot take to me like he did. It's one of my favorite memories! It must have been a mutual attraction, or maybe he sensed that I liked him.... :) You are so lucky to have such a beautiful bird!
