Osprey Steam Launch

Steam Launch Osprey was built in 1902 in Bowness its 45ft long with a 8ft beam and steam powered
It is the first steam launches to take to the water at Windermere Jetty, visitors can take a memorable heritage boat trip on Osprey around Lake Windermere.
Oh it would be fun to take that tour. What a beautiful, old boat!

Wow, what a beautiful craft - and a great capture demonstrating its beauty! I would love to take a trip on that....but I would NOT love dealing with the maintenance required to keep that wood looking so beautiful. I had to deal with a similar task annually as a youthful sailor, and it is NOT fun!

@stray_shooter Thank you for your interesting comment Ron, the Osprey is owned and maintained to a very high standard by the Windermere Steam Museum every penny raised by the boat goes straight back into the museum, you must have had a great time messing about in boats as a youngster:)
