The remains of Whitby Abbey through the mist or locally known as sea fret.
The first Benedictine monastery was founded in 657 AD the abbey and its possessions were confiscated by the crown under Henry VIII during the dissolution of the monasteries between 1536 and 1545. it was disestablished in 1538 and fell into ruin.
Love the composition and the patterns in the building!

This is a great capture of this Abbey. To think it has been standing for centuries and still looks strong and solid, to me.
