New Toy by pcoulson

New Toy

My new Sony α7R IV 35mm full-frame camera with 61.0MP, lots of reading and setting up to be done, only problem as from 9:00pm last night our area has gone back into lockdown which means we will have to be at home shielding.
That looks complicated Peter! Sorry to hear you are back to shielding just as your new kit arrives

Have fun with your new toy - but sad news that you are in lockdown again - we're getting tighter restrictions here in country Victoria now as Melbourne has gone back into lockdown!

Gorgeous camera... I have the a7iii... I'm a Canon person from analog to digital days and recently started shooting with the Sony... have to say that in many respects I like it better than my Canon R full frame mirrorless camera. Good luck with this beauty. Can you go outside at all in your lockdown situation? I certainly hope so.

Nice new toy. Sorry to hear you are back in lockdown. We went back into lockdown again recently because one person came here from a Sydney hot spot and spread the virus to our little community. Fingers crossed your lockdown won't last long and you are able to try out your new camera soon. In the meantime you can catch up on reading the manual.

Woo hoo!!!! Glad to see you decided to go all the way for the R iv! You will NOT regret it. As sharp as your photos always are, wait till you see how sharp they will be with this baby. Very happy for you, my friend. Sorry to hear you'll be held prisoner again, but at least you have mountains of learning to keep you busy. ;-)

@kvphoto Thank you so much for your interesting comment, I was a Minolta user back in the 35mm era, first digital camera the Konica Minolta Dynax D7 6MP DSLR in 2005 because my Minolta lenses fitted, then Sony bought them out, traded my Sony A7R ii for this one:)

@onewing Thank you for your interesting comment Babs hopefully we will both be restiction free soon, as for the manual the one in the box has only 91 pages with very small texted, but at leased its available on line and my Sony A7R ii was very similar in layout and operation:)

Congratulations Peter. Evidently this is the best of the best! We are certainly at war with Covid on a world wide battleground. Right now three vaccines are in clinical trials. The vaccine development was so much faster than normal but clinical trials truly cannot be rushed. Praying that one vaccine aces the trials and we can take our vaccinations and start to live again. I know it will be next year before the trials are complete, though.

@louannwarren Why thank you Lou Ann for your interesting comment and adding it as a fav, your are absolutely right about the vaccine, there are trials taking place all over the world it all takes time but we will get there in the end:)
