Weavers Cottage, by pcoulson

Weavers Cottage,

Halifax Photographic Society got the Halifax Industrial Museum to ourselves this evening, this is a depiction of a 18th century weavers cottage in the museum, all the equipment is from that period.
Great composition!

A great shot, Peter, to capture all this amazing 18th century weaving equipment! I like how the spinning wheel pulls us in! Nice warm light, too! Fav

@365projectorgheatherb Many thanks for your wonderful comment and Fav it’s appreciated, we could go into the roped off areas and get into areas the ordinary visitors can’t, unfortunately the lighting in this area was a little harsh, in other it was dark and needed a tripod and long exposure:)

@onewing Thank you Babs yes it was, all the manufacturers for the past had a section, as production closed the museum got machinery to display heavy machinery from the wool and cotton mills, washing machine manufacturing to Macintoshes sweets, 15 members had the place to themselves for 3 hours:)

What a great outing for your camera club. It's nice to be unhurried or bothered by getting other visitors in the shots. This image is really lovely.

@dide Thank you for your comment Dianne, it was a great evening, the only real problem was they had so must on show in a limited space although it’s in an old mill building on four floors, it was a bonus to have the place to ourselves, next Tuesdays club night we each have to submit 15 images each and discuss them, possibly may find we have all taken the same images, lol:
