Castlerigg Stone Circle by pcoulson

Castlerigg Stone Circle

Visited the lake district today, this stone circle was built 4,500 years ago by the prehistoric farming community, preserved for the nation by the National Trust;)
Beautiful shot. Late Neolithic or early Bronze Age astronomers maybe as well as farmers.

Such an interesting find and wonder if these stones had some sort of special meaning regarding them? Reminds me a lot of Stone Henge! A wonderful capture nonetheless! :)
