Newport Arch Lincoln by pcoulson

Newport Arch Lincoln

Still in Lincoln and its wet, this arch was built in AD200 as part of the perimeter wall and was the North gate into the Roman Colonia of Lindum now know as the City of Lincoln, its reputed to be the oldest arch in the UK.
Superb Peter. Fav.

Amazing. I love Lincoln. We lived there when David was posted near Lincoln back when Noah was a lad.

@miata2u Thanks for your comments and Fav Peggy, the Romans arrive in Lincoln in 64 AD and they still find artifacts from this period at construction sites within the old walled city;)

@simta Большое спасибо Татьяне, арки почти две тысячи лет, это было намного выше, оригинальный, как там в два-три метра современной дороги по сравнению с первоначальной римской дороги;)
