Dead Tree by phil_sandford

Dead Tree

I love dead trees; I find them really lovely subjects to either photograph or to just look at. I particularly love them in black and white, something ghostly about them. This one, in a field in Hackthorn, Lincs, looks to my mind and wild imagination, a bit like a human, with long arms waving.

The sheep around the tree happily grazing were oblivious to me, until one of them stopped and gave me the evil eye (see my year two album for her)
I can see the fascination. Lovely shot.

A very neat tree and it really does not take too much imagination to see the person in it!

They do have quite an eerie look to them - you can see all kinds of images there. The b&w really emphasizes that.

I love dead trees too, they are like giant sculptures. We have lots of trees in our garden and even one dead one we refuse to cut down.

I'm with you on this one mate. Dead trees make great subjects. This one looks like its throwing its hands in the air in despair at all the dead logs around it. Easy fav :)
