My brother and I thought this clockwork Hornby train was amazing when we were bought it as small children - who'd have thought all these years later I'd be taking a picture of it and showing it to people in other countries without leaving my home!
@dalboy - I was tempted to wind it up but resisted as I would have been sooo disappointed if it didn't work!
@gnilrets - we were certainly taught to respect our toys unlike so many of the children at the nursery I work in - although their parents are no better the other day 4 parents stood on a book that was on the floor before 1 stopped to pick it up ( I was manning the door and couldn't move but was dismayed at their lack of regard!)
