Splint

After my operation I had to wear a cast for a week. Since then I've been in this removable splint. At first I had to wear it all the time (apart from exercising and showering). Now I'm allowed to also take it off for a few hours each day to encourage movement. When heated it's soft and transparent with a look of silicone but once cold it sets completely hard. Each time I visit the OT they remould it to ensure my wrist is being encouraged into a straighter position
I had to wear one of these after I broke my arm, mine was black with fluro coloured velcro strips of various colours

Excellent, what a clever thing.

@kjarn ooh that sounds snazzy. I was given a choice of coloured straps as I was only wearing it in bed I went for in your face but pretty lilac! Not sure if I'd known that 10 days later I'd be wearing it out and about that's what I'd have chosen!

@boxplayer it really is... Being able to remove it means the best of both worlds... Correct position to encourage straightening but also freedom to encourage movement
