This sculpture stands by the sea in Aldeburgh, Suffolk and was erected in memory of a beloved doctor and his wife, also a GP.
A little bit of information courtesy of East Anglian Daily Times website:
'Snooks, who followed his master as he made his calls and became a familiar sight around the town, got his name because the family ate tinned snook (a sort of fish) from Africa during the Second World War.
He had a tendency to eat pebbles and found himself under the surgeon’s knife for his unusual habit.'
(I guess I will dedicate this post to Jinks as today would have been his 15th birthday!)
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Aw happy birthday Jinks where ever you may be! FThe ifteen would be a fair age fir a dog. Eating pebbles is not good, he had the right master to fix him! I like the pose of the dog.
Great capture and interesting information.
( we do n`t have mud (modder). We have ``slik``. That`s clay wetted by the rain. Last year there was a big discussion of this as the farmers have to warn you. Now it is official ``Slik``
