Brothers' homes by quietpurplehaze

Brothers' homes

The 25 or so Brothers in residence at the Hospital of St Cross and Almshouse of Noble Poverty live in individual flats here for which they pay a weekly rent.

A condition of residency is that they do not own property elewhere.

Another condition, despite the almshouse being a secular institution, is attendance at matins daily in the Norman church, wearing their robes.
Fascinating facts. I do love that row of chimneys
