The assignment this week for black and white February is working with light. This image is an example of hard light. It illustrates deep shadows on a sunny day, the shadows have hard edges in this early morning light.

Excellent lighting — it's created a super shadow of the bridge. I like how it's reaching way out over the snow. Is that blowing snow out over the lake?? It surely isn't fog or steam.
This is truly super - I'm really enjoying your black and white shots and learning a lot about what it takes to make a good b&w. This has lots of good space which works so well, and of course your lighting is perfect to bring those shadows to play. Having a far interest with those clouds just tops it off.
