Frozen Shoreline

I have chosen this image as an example of soft lighting with very little contrast, no hard shadows and subtle changes in values.
This is for black and white February, this week our focus is on different types of lighting. I processed this in LR.

I recognize that little island out there. It's been the star of a number of your photos! How different it looks encased in ice and snow as it waits for spring to arrive and canoes to go gliding by. The sky's reflection on the water is so pretty. Fine example of a low-light scene.

This is a perfect shot for soft lighting. It's so funny that last week there were several cloudy days but our chapters weren't working with light, so I passed them by. Now, that I need those gray days, every day is sunny! Nice shot.
