Loons show their true size when they rise out of the water and issue their mournful cry. It truly is a magnificent and large bird. This individual lived up to his reputation of being called a lonely loon. In another month we hope to see them coming together for their annual migration down south. It is something I really look forward to, seeing between eight to twelve loons calling out and dancing upon the water. Hope to capture this amazing sight next month!
