The theme for my photography group this month is portraits. I don't normally do portraits especially self portraits but thought I would give it a try. Being January and with the wind chill of -30 C I felt the parka would be quite appropriate!
Love this - have a coat (and a photo quite similar taken in Colorado) very much like yours. Have to share a story - while walking this morning (not as cold as you, but 19) the only thing sticking out was my eyes - had wool hat, neck gaiter, down coat etc . I'm a little past the spot where I took my sunrise shot and this truck stops just beside me - I'd stepped off the road when I heard it approach - and a high school boy rolls down his window - "M'aam - do you need a ride? It's awfully cold out there" Told him I appreciated it, but I was actually walking to shoot pictures (know he thought I was nuts). He did remark "Well, you seem to be well bundled up - but thought I'd check" - there's hope for our younger generation yet! He'd gone about 200 yards out of his way to come check on me. Then turned around and headed for the high school.
Hello there ... stay warm. @kt8ird This is sort of true. I think one reason is that you can keep trying. Other portraits I always feel that I must rush so I don't annoy the person too much.
I've had all the Parka wearing days I ever want to see again!! I lived in Alaska about half my life and to never feel that cold again is just fine with me!!! LOL You look cold but you also look good in a Parka!!! Great selfie and awesome in B/W!! Big FAV!
I do love my coat keeps me warm no matter what the temp goes down to!
