Yellow Cat Paws

This morning I was in my car at the drive thru when I spotted these outrageous yellow something or others in the planter box. So i put my car in park, hopped out to take a few shots- surprisingly no one honked - got back in, placed my order, picked it up and drove off.

Tonight, when I was reviewing various images from the day, I was amazed by the weird shapes of these yellow blooms.I thought they resembled cat paws or perhaps a six-fingered hand of a Dr. Seuss character. I've been concentrating on manual focus and macros so this is my offering for today! Best viewed large if you have time.
