We put on an astronomy event at a camp for about 60 youngsters in the foster care system tonight. They each got a spectacular view of Saturn and its rings. All the tripods were mounted with telescopes so when I saw the moon peek out from behind the clouds, I quickly grabbed this shot, hand held with my nifty fifty. Thought it turned out pretty well considering.
This is beautiful!! Roger went to LA on the train today, and when he got back asked me if I had seen the "red moon"! This must be what he was referring to....not sure what atmospheric conditions made it glow like that, but we did not get that down here...
