These famous falls form the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe along the Zambezi River. Known as "The Smoke that Thunders" or 'Mosi-oa-Tunya,' it is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Right now it's the beginning of Spring after a rather dry winter so the water level of the falls is quite low. In rainy season, it is a massive curtain of falling water with spray that often obstructs the view.
We were so happy to be able to see it even though it wasn't a high water season. I actually thought the exposed rock and fissures of the canyons on either side made it more interesting. And a bonus was that there weren't many tourists the morning of our visit so we practically had the falls to ourselves.
