Cheetah. Carnivore. Fastest land animal -- can go from 0 to 75 mph in less than two seconds. And I'm standing in the brush, less than 20 feet away from two young males who see me but don't seem to mind my gawking in amazement at them.
The cheetahs were the first big cats we encountered on safari. Our guide allowed us to get out of the jeep and walk (quietly) into the clearing for a good look. This was the first and only time we were able to leave the confines of the jeep for the rest of the game rides. It was hard to decide which pics to post but I liked the late afternoon light in this shot. Also, I just noticed that the times are inaccurate because I forgot to reset time on my camera.
So glad you got to see these wonderful animals in the wild! Cheetahs are one of my absolute favorite big cats.....so beautiful in their coloration and their spots, so graceful, those long tails, and the speed at which they move, just wonderful! And, did you know that cheetahs purr?!! :-))) Great capture of this amazing beast!
