These are plains zebras in the grasslands of Kruger National Park. Their black and white patterns are unique; just like human fingerprints. Zebras are social creatures who live in family groups known as "harems." It is believed that their stripes serve as camouflage to confuse predators when they stand together. I actually thought the zebras stood out from the background more so than many other animals who seemed to blend better into the bush and practically disappear. Fortunately, these delightful creatures are not considered endangered.
@taffy We saw so many elephants! The photo of the baby elephant I posted a few days ago was shot here in Kruger and I have tons of other shots of the herds as well.
