This is one of the many stately homes along the waterfront in Charleston, South Carolina. The original house was probably built sometime between the American Revolution and the Civil War. Strict city codes govern restoration of these elegant historic residences. I rode a beach cruiser around this neighborhood, stopping for photos along the way.
what a fabulous house and beautifully composed photo...its survived all these years and has the building codes in place to guarantee its future...fav for me too...cheers
I never ever tired of walking the streets of Charleston. I always would see something new. Sometimes I would pick just one thing to concentrate on - door knobs, ironwork, house numbers, stair. It was wonderful! I am glad you got to enjoy it!
