Their main occupation in the 1960's was managing the family home, caring for the children, cooking food, cleaning and taking care of our day-to-day needs. This is a photo I found while cleaning out my mother's home this week. She's pictured third from the left with her friends from the bridge club. Ironically, the woman on the far left was mom's close friend, Joyce, who has been my mother-in-law for the past 42 years! My mom passed away in December at the age of 89. I miss her every day.
Wow, what an amazing picture! The dresses, the hairstyles, the jewelry....funny enough it makes me think of the show Mad Men where they did such a great job recapturing that era! What a trip down memory lane it must be...
Such a precious treasure! How delightful to find it and your mother in law is also in it. A great reminder of an era long gone - but beautiful :) And yes we all miss our dear mother's everyday if they're no longer are with us!
They all look quite fashionable! And great smiles. Your mom was lovely! Wonder how they would have fared in the TV world...my guess is lives were not quite so over the top back then.
What a charming family keepsake and memory... so 60's! Fascinating shot. A lovely group of ladies. We are doing the same thing, ironically, so I understand how you might be feeling. So sorry for your mom's passing - I am sure this has been difficult and sad.
