Today I held a garage sale and this antique mirror that originally belonged to my Grandmother was laid flat on a table outside, reflecting the clouds. I took some shots to preserve the memory of this looking glass from my childhood, in case someone actually bought it. But at the end of the day, it was still on the table, covered in raindrops from mid-afternoon thundershowers. Now it's safely back inside and I just might not put it out for sale tomorrow...
Sad story and beautiful reflections! I know you can't keep everything of sentimental value, but now I'm rooting for the mirror not to be sold. My mother has a number of beautiful and very old antique mirrors. We will face a similar dilemma with any kind of sale up the road.
Fantastic image and in a way, a story with a happy ending as it still lives with you. We are still downsizing and it's so hard to give things away like that.
