The Girl from Amarpura

This young woman piloted our skiff out to a sandbar late one afternoon so we could catch the fisherman bringing in their nets at sunset. She's wearing Thanaka paste, made from ground bark, used by Burmese women for over 2,000 years for cosmetic beauty and sun protection.

She's stunning! I'm loving loving loving your shots from this trip. What an incredible opportunity!

I loved the tanaka on the women's faces! Some of the designs were pretty elaborate, and definitely a beauty mark as well as protection!
