In this season of Thanksgiving, I am focusing on gratitude and the many things for which we have to be thankful. All my best wishes to my 365 friends whose visits and comments throughout the year have been supportive, meaningful and a whole lot of fun!
Tonight I just discovered this shot for the first time, from among thousands taken on my October trip to Burma. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to travel to this marvelous part of the world where I encountered people with few material possessions, yet a wealth of faith, hope and kindness.
So pleased that yesterday's collage of the fishermen casting out their nets got faved to the PP! I had a blast shooting that in burst mode.
Gorgeous photo and a beautiful sentiment! Absolutely lovely, Elizabeth! ...and on that thoughtful note of yours, I'm calling it a day... Tomorrow we'll be at the Farmer's Market first thing and then cook and decorate the tree...a total mash-up of this Canadian -American lifestyle...for which I am ever so Thankful! ♥
These photos are wonderful. I like your observation about the people of Burma. I wish that some of their ways would wash off on us. Anyway, I also like your focus on gratitude. I know that through doing my 100 Happy Days Challenge I have been bringing all that I have to be grateful for to the front of my mind too.
All the shots from this series were just beautiful, but this one just stopped me in my tracks. The fact that the whole image is so monochromatic makes the boy seem to be just a part of this universe, one with his surroundings, bathed in the golden glow of the candles. This is just stunning, not only visually.
What a magnificent and touching photo for this, our Thanksgiving week. Your narrative is wonderful. What drew you travel in Burma??? Just curious. It's a place I never really thought about visiting -- and we have done a LOT of overseas travel.
Another wonderful shot so beautifully captured!! Really tells a story, and your narrative of gratitude is touching....hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
