We got up early today to set up for an astronomical event called the Transit of Mercury. It's when the planet can be seen crossing over the sun's surface. This tiny telescope is my husband's pride and joy. It's really quite powerful and certainly the smallest in his collection. Turned out the clouds came in so we weren't able to get a good photo but we were able to observe the tiny black spec of Mercury as it crossed the sun through the telescope eye piece and on the monitor of an iPhone.
Cool setup, and I was doing the exact same thing! The clouds parted a couple of times and I was able to grab a few shots. I'll have to ask you more about your little scope. My two scopes are nowhere near as portable! Glad you got to see the show.
