Three Sheets to the Wind by redy4et

Three Sheets to the Wind

Air drying the laundry is the common practice through out the coastal towns in Italy. The saying "three sheets" comes from a sailing phrase where the rope that controls the sail flaps in the wind. I originally shot this in color; converted it into b & w.
This is a beautiful photo. I am so thrilled by laundry photos, something really human about seeing architecture with the laundry of its inhabitants.

That saying also applies to a very drunk person! But not here - they would have fallen off that precarious step!
