Yesterday I went in search of heron chicks in the saltwater wetlands area where I like to hike. There I found mama warming the nest and dad standing guard with fierce concentration in a
70-foot high palm tree. I'm guessing that the eggs haven't hatched yet so I'll give it another shot in a couple weeks.
