After this egret (from yesterday's post) tired of perching on the parked car, it stepped gingerly across my neighbor's lawn, surveyed the area and quickly snagged this rather large alligator lizard in the bushes. The tussle that followed was memorialized on video. Without relating the gross details, let's just say the Egret prevailed. I took this shot right before the bitter end.

@365nick Well, the egret actually scored a second smaller lizard and then continued its slow meander through the neighborhood. After about 45 minutes, I gave up the hunt went back in the house.
