I've had this car twelve years now and apart from a flat battery this is the first time it's failed to start. I was only fifteen min's from home but called out the AA for only the second time since I joined in 2000. The problem was the fuse on the fuel pump and thirty min's later I was on my way.
Your car doesn't owe you anything then!. Mine is 11 years old and has just started to play up. It needed £1000 worth of work doing and I seriously thought about buying another car. But, like yours, it goes and goes, is a diesel with almost 150,000 miles on the clock, is a VW, so decided to pay the money and hope to get at least another couple of years out of it. I love my car!
