Was glad to see the Red Shouldered Hawk show up on the back fence today. Hadn't seen it in several days, as I'm sure you have all noticed. :-) But it posed very eloquently for several shots, before taking off.
I'd love to know your secret for getting him to sit somewhere other than the utility pole! I think 95% of the ones I see are atop a pole - the other 5% in a tree 300 yards away!
I have a whole new appreciation for your hawk pictures; I tried desperately to photograph a big beautiful guy today but he would NOT stay perched near enough to get a decent photo of him. I thought of you several times while "stacking" the bird, unsuccessfully I might add.
@milaniet@monty147@lyndemc Thanks Milanie, Montez and Denise. I always feel lucky when I can get these shots. But at times, it does seem like these are somewhat tame, as they are just not afraid of humans. Glad for that.
it becomes quite obsessive when you watch wild animals daily and you want them to be free, but you want them to come present themselves too ;) well that's how I feel lol beautiful capture and total fav
