Just happened to take the trail where I had seen the owl before, and wah-lah, looked up in one of the trees, and there it was. Really made my day. May not be on for several days, as we are thinking about heading west, to get out of all the chaos of the storm.
Such a beautiful creature. I worry so much about the birds during these hurricanes; they have no way to escape the violence of the wind. I wish I knew that they all had the sense to fly far, far away from where the destruction is about to occur. Thinking of you and your family during this crisis and hoping you remain safe.
