Belvoir Castle by rjb71

Belvoir Castle

This castle has featured many times in my project but this is the first time I have visited in 20 years! I was fortunate it was fairly quiet when I took this shot from the drive leading up to this picturesque castle.
Wonderful capture. Carole and I keep saying we need to visit Belvoir Castle, but we’re still to do so.

@roachling That one is Burley House not to be confused with Burghley House! We have a few this one is actually near Grantham but is in Leicestershire and is home to the Duke and Duchess of Rutland! Confused....?

It is a stunning castle. Haven’t been for years. The duke & duchess are estranged I believe & live in seperate wings!

@phil_sandford Thanks Phil. It's quite a climb to the top but my wife has a disability so we were allowed to drive to the top. The gardens are magnificent but do take a bit of effort to get round.

It is magnificent. We used to visit Belvoir Castle regularly when we lived at Cranwell. Do they still have lots of peacocks in the grounds?
