I first visited this cavern when I was about six years old. I've been many times since, in all weathers and seasons and even by candlelight, and never tire of it. It always amazes and delights me!
That big stalactite is probably the most famous feature in this cave - anyone know it?!

This is where I took my Aussie visitors today. The weather was so much better than yesterday and we were able to get to the place she had really come to see - my childhood playground. It was a tough choice whether to use an underground photo or the spectacular above ground scenery, but I went for this one in the end as I obviously spend more time above ground so I can always do the scenery another time.
is this one of the Castleton caves for blue john?

@shanne
good guess but no, none of Castleton's caves are as magnificent as this one! This is probably the best cavern in the Peak District with easy visitor access.

Poole's Cavern in fab - well worth a trip! There are 4 caves in Castleton, none as great as Poole's but all worth a trip.
