Anyone know what this is? I know it's not a dandelion, my best offer is an educated guess that it's a kind of cat's ear or hawkbit.
I haven't a clue, but then again we'd probably call it something different in the US than you would in the UK. Very lovely!

I tried, couldn't find any leaves that seemed to go with this stem, that's what made my think hawkbit rather than my first guess at cat's ear

its got those squarish petals of autumn hawksbit (which does flower at this time of the year despite its name)... need more detail of stem and leaves..

Yes, I thought most likely hawkbit but I couldn't find any leaves! It is growing in a patch of rough grass and I searched through it but no leaves in there.
