I doubt I'd find the nest. There are a lot of wood pigeons around here and the nest would be in one of the nearby trees probably but there are loads! Sometimes I see huge flocks on them sitting in the fields at the back so I reckon their would be many nests if I went looking! This egg was in the garden so I expect it was dropped by whatever took it, assuming it was eaten by something.
